Weekly post- Week 9

This week I am trying Netball for the first time. We play inter school  sports every Friday and I normally play football, but this time I am playing Netball. I have never played it but I know a lot of the the rules, because I watched the ANZ championship. I have just seen the weather and it looks like rain a lot of the day. Some year 6 students including me have just wrote a letter to the principal and sports coordinator about a tennis team. We are also thinking about a new cricket team. I have just finished the book Holes. That has been my favourite book ever.

Weekly post- week 8

This week in maths I learnt about the cartesian plane. The cartesian plane is a tool in maths that help you pin point a spot on a map or anything else. Here is a picture of a negative cartesian plane.

I also made a show me for the parents maths information night. The link to that is below.

Maths show me!

I am still reading the same book holes.

In daily 3 2 friends and I have created a group called the Cricket Sensations. We are a trio who sing songs about cricket. Here is our link to our page. We really enjoy making people laugh with our songs and our moves. It all started when we had to make a ballad for school. So we made it into a bigger thing. It all started with the sing Swing Young Jimmy.

week 7- weekly post

At the moment I am reading a great book called Holes. I am really liking it because it draws you in. The book is about a boy who gets accused of stealing  some special baseball shoes. He then goes to court and can choose to go to Camp Green Lake or kids jail. Camp green lake is in the middle of a dessert. The dessert used to be a lovely town with a glistering blue lake running through but now it is a punishment place. At Camp Green Lake you have to dig one hole a day. 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep. Stanley meets a group of boys who have been sent there to. He gets on with them at the start but not for much longer. With the book Holes  I am in a literature circle with 3 other boys we are all really engaged and into the book.

Religion project

My group was Charlie, Josh VS, Matt and I. We were investigating Sikhism. Sikhism is a religion from India. It is similar to the Catholic religion because it has one God and it has rules and regulations/customs. Some customs of theirs are they have to have uncut hair, they are allowed to wear Turbins, thy have to wear a steel bracelet and have a steel sword. I think we did a good job with our Prezi, we included lots of information and a diagram of a temple they use.
