week 7- weekly post

At the moment I am reading a great book called Holes. I am really liking it because it draws you in. The book is about a boy who gets accused of stealing  some special baseball shoes. He then goes to court and can choose to go to Camp Green Lake or kids jail. Camp green lake is in the middle of a dessert. The dessert used to be a lovely town with a glistering blue lake running through but now it is a punishment place. At Camp Green Lake you have to dig one hole a day. 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep. Stanley meets a group of boys who have been sent there to. He gets on with them at the start but not for much longer. With the book Holes  I am in a literature circle with 3 other boys we are all really engaged and into the book.

I was walking down the dark and gloomy street. I then saw a little boy about eleven writing his mums name on the side of the road in black. An older man then walked past him and spoke to him, I suspected that he was his dad. I walked up to the kid and said, “ does your dad make you do this”. He then replied “yes”. “ where does he hang out all the time because I could get the police on to him”. I said“ he just got back from France, ut he always hangs out at the club and smokes I tell him not to but he doesn’t listen”. “ I’m onto it”. I said to him.
